Money with Mo

Draft — not legal advice

Privacy policy

Draft of October 25, 2026. For review before the beta opens wider.

Who we are

Money with Mo is a budgeting app in a private beta, run by one person. “We” and “us” in this policy mean that person. You can reach us at muhammadmelbadri@gmail.com.

What we collect

  • Your account: your email address, and a password if you set one (stored by our sign-in provider, scrambled — we can’t read it).
  • Your bank data: when you connect your bank through SimpleFIN Bridge, the names of your accounts, their balances, and their transactions. The connection is read-only.
  • What you enter: budgets, categories, goals, your payday, your debts and their rates, and anything you type into the app.
  • Survey answers: what you answer when you join the waitlist, and again about a month in.
  • Usage: when you sign in, which pages you open and for how long, and when you tap Refresh or change your dashboard. Never what is on the page.
  • Feedback: what you write, and any picture you attach. A picture of the page taken by the app hides every amount first.
  • A sign-in cookie: so you stay signed in. No advertising or tracking cookies.

What we never collect

Your bank password, your Social Security number, full card numbers, your location or your contacts. There are no ads and no third-party trackers in the app.

How we use it

  • To work out and show your numbers — safe to spend, your debt plan, your categories.
  • New transactions are sorted with help from AI, which sees merchant names only — never amounts, account numbers or sign-in details.
  • To make the app better: usage, feedback and survey answers tell us what helps and what doesn’t.
  • To email you about your invite and your sign-in codes. Nothing else, unless you ask.

Who can see it

You. Your money is visible only to you. The person running the beta can see usage (how often people sign in, which pages they open), survey answers and feedback — never a balance, a transaction or a bill.

The services that run the app, only to do that job: Supabase (the database and sign-in), Vercel (hosting), SimpleFIN Bridge (your bank connection), Anthropic (the AI that sorts transactions, by merchant name) and our email provider (invites and codes). None of them may use your data for their own purposes.

We don’t sell your data, share it for advertising, or give it to anyone else unless the law requires it.

How it’s protected

  • Everything travels over an encrypted connection.
  • The key to your bank connection is encrypted before it is stored, and opened only to fetch your data.
  • Each person’s data is walled off in the database, and automated tests check that no one can read anyone else’s.
  • You can add a 6-digit code to every sign-in, in Account › Security.

Keeping and deleting

We keep your data while you have an account. Account › Delete my account removes it — your bank data, everything you entered, your usage and feedback, and the key to your bank connection — at once. Backups made before then may hold a copy for a short time until they expire.

Waitlist answers from before you joined are kept for the study until the beta ends, or until you ask us to remove them.

Your choices

You can see and change what you entered in the app, disconnect your bank in Account, and delete your account at any time. To ask for a copy of your data, or for anything this page doesn’t cover, write to muhammadmelbadri@gmail.com.

Children

Money with Mo is for adults. We don’t knowingly let anyone under 18 sign up.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we’ll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
